Legislative Work
Floridians Against Fracking supports bills in the Florida Legislature that would ban the well-stimulation techniques commonly referred to as “fracking.” Our approach to advocacy includes coordinating and training citizens to advocate on behalf of the cause, and maintaining a presence in the Capitol with a professional lobbyist. This approach allows us to organize to communicate with Florida’s legislators on a constant basis throughout legislative session, and show our strength-in-numbers when and where it counts, at committee hearings, through call-in days and letter-writing parties, and in-office meetings with individual legislators.
We invite anyone concerned with fracking in Florida to join Floridians Against Fracking and participate in our legislative advocacy. We can help you to craft your message to your legislators to be the most effective, whether you’re calling them up, meeting with them or their staff, or testifying before a committee. Our legislators need to hear from their constituents in order to make the right choices, so any way that you can participate in our advocacy efforts will bring us all closer to our goal of Banning Fracking in Florida!
